How does Opal helps people to meet their daily needs

OPAL’s ministry of getting affordable Bibles and Christian books to the poorer countries of the world meets great and varied needs. Day by day we receive requests for help from many situations in the Majority World – Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Bibles for work in a prison in Zambia; Christian books for patients to read during recovery in a hospital on the Angolan border; Bible commentaries for a major country in Asia; theological books and teaching aids for ministry in Mauritius; Bibles and gospel leaflets to India; copies of Saber e Fazer (the Portuguese translation of Knowing and Doing) to Angola; books for a college libraries in Ethiopia and Nepal; Study Bibles to a Bible School in Kenya – these are some of the recent requests for help we have been able to meet.

It is a privilege for OPAL to provide Bibles and Christian literature for these and many more projects, fulfilling its vision of serving Christian leaders and churches in the Majority World.  OPAL sends new books and Bibles, but also excellent theological resources that have been donated to OPAL, often from retired preachers and missionaries. An important part of OPAL's ministry is also publishing Christian literature to meet needs for teaching and training materials, often in local languages, and the number of OPAL books is growing.
