Joel became Executive Director of OPAL USA in 2022, and leads our work across the U.S. Raised in Mexico by missionary parents, he graduated from Emmaus Bible College and Dallas Seminary. He served in pastoral and outreach ministries in California and Texas, including among Hispanic communities, then spent eight years church planting in Mexico and teaching at a church-based Bible institute. From 2007 to 2022, he lectured at Emmaus Bible College in Iowa. Joel now lives near Greenville, SC, with his wife Amy, who supports his ministry. He also works with CMML and partners with OPAL UK to advance OPAL International’s vision. Joel is especially passionate about resourcing churches and theological training in Latin America.
Neville served on the Operation Mobilisation ship the MV Logos, and then the MV Doulos, where Neville ran the large Book Exhibition. After a period working with OM in Italy, in 1997 Neville returned to the USA to work with OM Literature. This work involved supplying OPAL with books, and when Neville retired from OM he began working with OPAL USA, and helps run OPAL USA's warehouse from where Bibles and Christian books are distributed around the world. Neville is married to Dee, and is a Director of OPAL USA.
Over the last 25 years Paul and Angela have been involved in creative services for the publishing industry. They run their own graphic design agency and live in south Atlanta, USA, with their 3 children. They have been with OPAL USA since its foundation in 2013, and they play a financial, administrative, and design role in the ministry. Paul and Angela are Directors of OPAL USA.
Harley grew up on a farm in Georgia, where he came to know Christ as his Saviour at the age of 13. Harley's interest in Christian literature distribution developed when he sold Bibles door to door during two summers. In 1970 he married Deborah, and they spent 19 years of service with Operation Mobilization, in various capacities, distributing Christian literature in the U.K., working on the OM ship MV Logos, and in the USA. In 1989, Harley started Rollins Pilot, focusing on Christian literature distribution and publishing for the Caribbean, Africa, India, and Asia, and is involved with several organizations supporting world missions, alongside his role with OPAL. Harley is a Director of OPAL USA.
John Lewis and Ian Shaw of OPAL UK also serve as directors of OPAL USA.
