"We are committed to extend God’s Kingdom to His glory by sending resources from parts of the world where these are plentiful to places where there are few."
Preachers, evangelists, church planters, Christian leaders, and their ministries in the Majority World - Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America - need books to help them grow in understanding, spiritual maturity, and fruitfulness. They need books to help them preach and teach.
OPAL supplies this need through making books available at affordable and subsidised prices. We supply:

OPAL Publications
OPAL publishes books addressing important issues and meeting strategic needs in the Majority World. See our Publishing page.
"Your support encourages me to stay faithful in God’s calling."
OPAL provides Leader’s Study Packs containing a study Bible, commentaries and books on theology, preaching, mission, leadership and church history. Each pack is carefully selected to provide a valuable resource for those training for leadership in local church and wider Christian ministry in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
These books are the beginning of a small library for the future ministry of these Bible School students, and the cost would be far beyond any of their means if they had to purchase these books themselves.
Here is the story of one of the many leaders OPAL has helped -
Emmanuel is a Christian leader in South Sudan. He is training to be equipped to serve, but he had major problem – almost no books to study and prepare. Here's his story, and how OPAL was able to help
"I'm 35 years old, the only son among four girls. I became an orphan at the age of 3 with the death of my dad. My aunt took me to stay with her because my mother could not afford to send me to school. With her help, I was able to reach high school. My eyes were opened spiritually, and I became a Christian at the age of 14. I'm now involved in youth ministry, evangelism and preaching. I'm learning how to teach the word of God."
South Sudan
Emmanuel lives in one of the poorest countries in the world. Only 34% of its population can read and write, and the average life expectancy is under 60 years. Christians make up 60% of the population of 13 million people, with the rest made up of African religions or Islam. Emmanuel is part of a group of leaders being trained in South Sudan, Africa.
How OPAL helped
In September 2023, OPAL supplied Emmanuel with a Leader's Book Pack containing 15 books, including a Study Bible, a whole-Bible commentary, and books on theology, preaching, mission, and church history. These are resources he could never afford, and they will be an essential library for his preaching ministry.
It costs £200 to obtain and ship each book pack.
