One of the greatest gifts we can present to future generations of the global church is well-educated and capable Christian leaders. Local Christian leaders are those best able to preach, teach, train, and live out the Gospel in their local context.
In the Majority World - Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America - churches are growing fast, but they lack trained leaders and resources. As a result, they are unable to grow in depth and maturity and are vulnerable to the spread of unhelpful and erroneous teaching. Leaders need access to quality theological training for their own spiritual growth, and so that they can teach and train others.
OPAL collects used theological books and makes them available to resource Bible school libraries.
North India Bible Institute had a problem. They were seeking accreditation, but their library did not meet the standard minimum of volumes. We could sense their urgency. We pulled hundreds of used books from the shelves at our warehouse, including Greek and Hebrew references, commentary sets, and ministry resources, all free. The next hurdle was getting the books to India. “We will only receive the shipment if you send it via the US Postal Service,” they said. But the cost was more than they could afford, but in God's goodness, other donors made it possible. Within a few short weeks, the books arrived at their new home. Excited students shared their thanks and got to work with the wonderful resources.
OPAL'S VISION TO EQUIP LIBRARIES
North India Bible Institute is one of many institutions with
similar needs that OPAL is seeking to help.
Our vision each year is to equip 10 Bible school libraries with the books and resources they need, giving them the resources that will help train Christian leaders for generations.

OPAL's catalogues of used books are regularly updated. Using these lists, Bible schools and training programmes in the Majority World can choose the books they most need. OPAL makes no charge for these books sent to resource Bible School libraries.
Note: Listing the books does not mean we agree with every view expressed, but we believe there is much of value to the discerning reader in the volumes listed.
