Bemba Bibles and Books

Bemba Bibles and Books

The need for Bibles and Christian books in the Bemba language for the northern part of Zambia is overwhelming. Bemba is spoken by about 4.1 million people in Zambia. Local leaders do not have funds to purchase Bibles for themselves and their churches. OPAL has been working with several local partners in Zambia, including African Church-Based Training, in a project to supply church leaders with a Bemba Bible and a copy of two Christian books from its warehouse in Chingola, Zambia.

Christian teaching, and A Life Worth Living

The recipients of books from this project receive a Bemba Bible, and Bemba translations of Knowing and Doing, OPAL’s best-selling introduction to Christian teaching, and A Life Worth Living. Felix Muchimba, the leader of ABCT, shared with us how many groups are promoting unhelpful doctrines. He added, ‘we believe that the Bible in the local language is an essential tool to challenge their teachings’. Through the generosity of OPAL’s supporters funds have been raised for almost 500 Bemba Bible and Book packs which have been distributed through local ministries working among the Bemba people. We are so thankful to God for the generosity of His people, and so enabling those who are hungry for God’s Word and thirsty for good teaching to have these resources.

You can help bless the Bemba people with Christian books and Bibles
