OPAL has been serving the global church since 2003. We have delivered hundreds of thousands of Bibles and items of quality evangelical literature to church leaders, missionaries and the communities they serve in the Majority World - Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. It is a privilege and joy to support them in this way and we invite you to join us in this partnership!
The church in the Majority World is growing, yet Bibles and Christian literature are scarce. It is here that OPAL can make a real difference. The needs are critical. We invite you to partner with us in responding to the urgent requests for help we receive each week for good quality resources to help build up and equip faithful believers.
OPAL tackles Bible poverty by getting affordable Bibles in local languages to those least able to afford them.
Bibles
OPAL produces affordable and accessible books on foundational Christian teaching. We also produce gospel tracts for free distribution in the Majority World.
OPAL supplies high-quality evangelical Christian literature including Leaders’ Packs of essential resources for Christian workers in the most needy parts of the world.
OPAL supplies donated used evangelical theological books to training programmes and ministries that need them most in the Majority World.
In 2 Corinthians 8 the apostle Paul writes 'At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need.’ [2 Cor 8: 10-13] This Biblical idea of equality includes access to Christian resources - Bibles and Christian books. In some parts of the world Christian leaders have a wealth of resources, in other parts they don't even have a Bible, or any Christian books.
"We are committed to extending God’s Kingdom to His glory by getting Bibles and Christian literature to places where they are scarce".
A number of months back OPAL was delighted to receive a visit from Gabriel Kijambu, founder of the Luwero Community Project in Uganda. He asked OPAL to help with a number of projects, one of which was a visionary idea to create a lending library of Christian books for the local community.
